a “new” Farm Utility Vehicle (FUV)
Oh how sad to hear on Monday my trusty, lovely taurus car had a cracked engine head at almost 200,000 miles….a seriously life ending report for the car. She was a good one, after 6 years and almost 170,000 miles, we went through so much, traveled to may places, delivered so many goodies, had such great times. And this car had very few repairs needed. I hauled over 600 lbs/week of grain and feed in that car, went ice fishing with her, took my German cousin Anetta to Duluth, went to visit my friend Heidi in Decorah, Iowa, to visit family in San Antonio, TX, and even to North Carolina. Plus MANY miles driving to and from Stillwater and Minneapolis/St.Paul.
So in a panic, I had to find a new car to replace my unreplaceable car…and found a 2000 Subaru with 91,000 miles and more space for hauling than I could believe! She’s a sleek machine and I hope this car can surpass my previous one’s abilities. My mechanic said yes, so home she came. Next week she’ll get to haul the 50 ducklings home from the other farm- as soon as it warms up a bit.
